Now available as an optional upgrade for the surface tension table, I thought it was time to shine some light on this dark and mysterious keyboard…
Well, where do I start…
As mentioned previously, Commodore unveiled their new gaming PCs at CeBIT in Germany last week.
They are offering a high-end gaming system, with the top-of-the-range unit using the latest Quad-core processor from Intel, two NVidia 8800 768MB graphics cards and 4MB 1066MHz RAM… to mention a few points. They are also confident enough with their systems to offer a 2-year parts and service plan.
The picture above shows the bare monolith-esque system, which has interchangeable panels to personalize your case.
It’s also worth mentioning that they come pre-installed with a commodore 64 emulator and over 50 classic games. A nice touch I thought, if the new owner is old enough to remember those days that is…
“25 years ago, Commodore launched the best selling personal computer of the late 20th Century, the C64, and defined the early computer games experience for millions of people worldwide,” said Bala Keilman, CEO for Commodore Gaming. “We are privileged and excited to bring the Commodore brand back to the gaming community and mark a new chapter in its history with this exceptional machine. We’re sure that it will deliver what gamers need and want.”
This is an interesting approach back into the marketplace using a well-known brand name. Well, only if you are of a certain age. I’m intrigued to see what Commodore will be coming up with. As you can see… just under 8 days until we find out when the new systems are unveiled at the CeBIT exhibition in Germany.
I often reminisce about the days of the C64. Obviously things have moved on a lot since then, which means I can also reminisce about The Ocarina of time!

Take a look at this month’s +N magazine…
I’m not sure I need to say any more, except maybe… who made you leader?
Now here’s a thought…
For those of you that used to sink your ten pence pieces into pinball machines rather than uprights or cocktails, maybe it’s time to dust off those power tools and make one of these to have along side a surface tension table.
This is well worth a look, so do it. Though as I am well used to, everyone else wants their own twist on the design!
