Nintendo-mobile. Nintendo-themed car.

Another inhabitant of Georgia has pimped up their ride to show their love of computer games. First there was the Mr PacMan car. Now we have the Nintendo version! Plus the canvas being the same style Chevy. Man, I’d love to see these two race it out on Koopa Beach.

From the outside, it looks like any other pimped-up car with 22″ rims… apart from the giant NES controller on the side. But inside, is where the love is. Re-upholstered seats to include the retro Nintendo colours of black, red and grey. Mario and Luigi on the seats. I’m not sure what “Game Over” is telling the passengers in the back, but I love the detailing. That’s not saying I’d be happy to cruise around in this thing picking up chicks though.

Invader 1000 exhibition, Paris.

If you’ve seen the Banksy flick, Exit through the gift shop, then you’ll be familiar with the French street artist, Space Invader. Famous for his invasions around the world, he’s holding an exhibition in Paris until 17th July at La Générale

Super Mario (Converse) All-Stars

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros, Nintendo released a retread of Super Mario All-Stars. Now, working with Nintendo, Converse is releasing some Mario-themed goods to aid in your treading.

The first of the two Super Mario Bros Chuck Taylor All-Stars series will be released next month. The more scenic designs like the one above will start showing up on gamers’ feet in August. What I really love about these Chucks are all of the hidden bits – the coins on the outside flap, the ‘Thank-you Mario’ screen, the oh-so clever placement of the Invincibility Star on the back. Even the box is awesome.

Part of Converse Japan Summer 2011 Collection, the two Chuck Taylor All Star Hi retail for JP¥ 8,190 (or £63) with a release date around July. The Chuck Taylor All Star Double Upper will retail for JP¥9,240 (or £71) and set for launch in August. No confirmation at this time over the collection’s release elsewhere outside of Japan…Mamma Mia!

NES inspired iPhone 4G cover

Let’s be honest, Retro is cool but not always practical.  Could you imagine if we still had to carry around the 4lbs cellular phone from the 80′s, no way!  This Retro Game Controller iPhone Cover lets you enjoy some retro Nintendo fashion, all while keeping the new age functionality of the iPhone 4G.

Relive the past and all those A B B A cheat codes from Contra and Mario Brothers with this cool retro inspired iPhone cover. At the moment I could only find it from USA stockist perpetual kid for $9.99 but with a little bit of luck someone will import to the UK soon.

Zelda chess set

It shouldn’t always be all about video games and I feel that you should always take time out to play something a little more hands-on and interactive with fellow humans.

Fizz Man Industries spent 3 months bridging that gap with his sculpted Zelda chess set. It looks like it’s based on The WindWaker version… second only to OoT. But hey that’s just my opinion and because this is my blog, that makes it gospel.

Glass Pool Table – Rack To The Future

When money is truly no object and things of beauty are a must, the G-1 Glass Pool Table is for you. Making every other pool table you’ve racked up on seem utterly prehistoric, this modern beauty was created by Nottage Design and makes a wonderful addition to your high-rise office, modern games room, or millonaires want list.

Topped with a patented Vitrik playing surface that plays just like baize, the award-winning G-1 is clearly revolutionary. We’re talking premium quality 15mm Monolithic Float glass with exposed polished edges, a lightweight skeletal frame with fully-visable ball-return mechanism, BCA-spec pockets and K-66 bumpers. No, we’re not entirely sure what all that means but the G-1 looks awesome and plays like a dream.

To learn more about this amazing pool table go to Nottage Design and you can pre-order it from firebox for a cool £34,999.

Huge joysticks with the new Tetris Giant!

Not new to the world apparently, but new to me, so I thought it was worth a mention.

So anyway, Tetris Giant uses two huge balltop joysticks to control huge blocks on a huge screen. Shown in the images is a projector, which has now been dropped down to a 40-something inch LCD. Probably to bring some of the $10,000 cost down, but also to reduce the footprint

If you’ve got a significantly shorter significant other, Sega have got that covered with the different sized sticks!

PAC-MAN mouse mat

I want one of these PAC-MAN themed mouse mats and the Zelda one and to complete the set I’ll take the Super Mario Bros. one too.

pac-man-mousemat.png

As you can see from the images, the mouse mat comes with all details and elements from the iconic maze, in addition to four ghosts and PAC-MAN, we can see the game score, high score, and the fruit that has been eaten by the yellow guy. The PAC-MAN themed mouse mat is priced at £7.59 plus P&P. If you’re interested in seeing the other designs available, jump to DesignNoy‘s site at Etsy for more details.

Tabletto Minimalist seating

I’m a huge fan of clean lines and minimalism in the home. That said, I’m not the tidiest person, so you won’t find any such thing in mine!

tabletto_seat.jpg

The Tabletto is a creation from the Belgian designer, Pascale De Backer, to make people concious of the use of medicines in society, as well as making some interesting seating. He also has a couple of smaller seats in the shape of ecstasy pills… and for the same reason.

Tetris Post-its may help your mental block

The guys over at the great design house that is SUCK UK have launched a great retro Post-it note pack. I could see myself just peeling these off in random order and playing Tetris on the kitchen cupboard

Why has it taken this long for these to come out?
