surface tension retro-fit

For those of you that like to be in control of your own hardware, you can now purchase the surface tension arcade table without a PC, with the new retro-fit option.

It is designed to take a shuttle or equivalent PC, which measures 31cm x 20cm x 18.5cm. With all the cables ready to plug in, you’ll be up and running within 5 minutes!

retro space - modern retro

Made in Holland, this is a modern take on Nolan Bushnell’s computer space arcade machine. Also reminiscent of the original Pong machine in my eye.

I really like the style of the cabinet, but I’m not sure it would fit in anywhere with my decor.

I’m also a fan of the control panel, but I think that’s a given if you’ve seen the surface tension control panel.

Fantastic Contraption… get me away from this thing!

This thing has been both driving me mad and keeping me sane for the past couple of days (and counting). As the name would suggest, you have to build a contraption to perform a (relatively) simple task using a handful of different components. Sounds easy huh?

You can also save a link to your solutions and replay them to make yourself feel better during the more difficult later levels… or show them off to your mates after they’ve pulled their hair out.

Here’s my favourite invention

Donkey Kong Jenga

You can’t play video games ALL the time, so I feel that when indoors, board games help to maintain a healthy balance. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t get out and throw a frisbee around or ride your bike though!

Where was I… oh yes, Jenga. A great game when you have some friends round. With Donkey Kong Jenga, you can play the traditional way, or you can play with the aim of rescuing the girl… which as we all know is Pauline, and not Peach.

“The classic tower building game features 54 black hardwood blocks decked out with the iconic Donkey Kong girders. Build your Donkey Kong-themed Jenga tower the traditional way or climb the girders with your Mario mover and save Pauline from Donkey Kong in a new and even more challenging way to play. Custom Mario, Donkey Kong and Pauline playing pieces and a Donkey Kong themed spinner are included for alternate game play. Either way you play you are guaranteed edge-of-your-seat excitement.”

Edge-of-your-seat excitement huh? Well, you can be the judge of that one. Seems to only be available in the US at the moment, but who knows, we may get it over here by Christmas.
