iTunes & Airport
Here at surface tension we love iTunes. You might even go so far as to say we’ve developed a bit of an obsession with apple’s wireless technology and the software used to drive it.Back in the day when the first arcade table prototype was put together ideas were flooding into my head about how I could make the most of the technology concealed within the unit.
Apple’s AirPort and iTunes made it simple to add some really quality functionality to the tables. When we talked about turning the prototype into a commercial reality we talked about ways in which we could get real value back from the technology we we’re putting within the table.
iTunes visualiser, when seen playing out through the table’s glazed top looks amazing and that’s just with it’s default installation. Beyond the gaming, which is still the heart of the table, the fact that you can bring up iTunes and wirelessly play out to the stereo whilst watching the table top go mad with colours and shapes makes the table into a really special piece of contemporary furniture.
