Keeping Time Like It’s 1989
When was the last time you saw a clock gone so block? Probably in a ’80s computer game – this clock, made by the pixel people at Mustard, is so retro it makes your eyes water, but it does tell perfect time all the time; even if it does have its roots in the pixelated past.
8-bit style with pixellated corners and everything, yet still remaining deliciously analog. Little stubby minute and hour hands mark the passage of time, even if Magic Castles makes you think time has stopped.
Available from Play.com for £17.99

Table football coat hooks
On a similar gaming tip, this one’s for the football fans. Produced by TodoCecilia at her Etsy shop, these are handpainted and also customisable.
I was never any good at table football, so maybe the wall is the best place for them.

Arcade button light switch
Another way to show your hardcore roots in the home apart from arcade coat hooks, Space Invader wall stickers, and a PacMan sponge for your dishes is the Arcade Light Switch. Available over at Etsy by AlephDesign.
Available in different colours upon request. I’m a simple man so my personal choice would be white for light and black for dark.
Probably best you don’t practise your Track and Field on this though as it does come with the warning:
***INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE HAVE MODIFIED THIS LIGHT SWITCH, AND IT IS NOT A FACTORY PIECE. WE HAVE USED IT FOR YEARS, AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT.***
I can only hope the buttons are used to switch a mains relay as standard microswitches certainly aren’t designed for mains voltage.

Super Mario Bros in the bathroom
Not like that.
There’s nothing wrong with letting a bit of your retro-nerd tendencies seep out now and again. (Though you should always know your limits).
eisley over at Destructoid, and her boyfriend, decided to turn their guest bathroom into a 2D Mario haven. Sounds like they’ve put in a lot of hours, and according to the blurb, there’s still more detail to go… before moving on to another room!
“This is just the first part, though, we’re starting the next level, in the second room of this bathroom, next weekend. And after that we have plans for shelves, custom light switches, fixing up a themed shower curtain, certain Marionoises somehow happening, Club Nintendo towels, and so on. The ideas never really seem to stop flowing. And yet, as we were finishing this first level yesterday my boyfriend mentioned doing yet another themed room.”
Sounds like a lot of work, but looks like a great job!
